During the week of October 21-27, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment responded to 20 domestic disputes.
On October 21, officers investigated a report from a Petawawa home about intimate images of an adult being shared without consent. This investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man with no fixed address, who was charged with two offenses under the Criminal Code: distributing intimate images without consent and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused has been released and is set to appear in court on November 26.
On October 23, police began looking into an assault related to a domestic dispute. A 38-year-old man from Pembroke has been charged with assault – spousal. He has also been released and will appear in court on November 25.
Later, on October 25, police received a report about unwanted communication from a former intimate partner in the Town of Laurentian Hills. As a result, a 35-year-old man from Laurentian Hills was charged with harassing communications. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on December 2.
