The Ghost Town Cryers are putting on “Singing for Supper” fundraiser this Sunday from 7:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. at the Pembroke Waterfront Park Amphitheatre. This will be the second annual food drive they have put on supporting the St. Joseph’s Food Bank.
myFM sat down with Stacy Graveline the leader of the Ghost Town Cryers to talk about their food drive and why they decided to start it. Graveline spoke about Pat Hammel, the man who started the band who unfortunately passed away and how community oriented he was. Hammel had supported so many non-profits in the Valley like the Robbie Dean Centre and any fundraising events in the Valley that helped support the community, he would make sure to help with anyway possible. Graveline stated that in his honour they make sure to keep the band community driven.
Graveline spoke about their food drive last year and how well it turned out. Amanda Dupuis a member of the band who spearheaded the fundraiser wants to see if this year they can raise more funds and collect more food donations.
Everyone is welcome to attend Singing for Supper food drive as the event is free and is for all ages. Graveline wants to remind the community that times can be tough for some families and fundraiser like this one can go along way.
Make sure to head to the Water front Park on August 25th for the Singing for Supper food drive and don’t forget to bring a donation to support the St. Joseph’s Food Bank.
