The Petawawa Animal Hospital, currently at 3261 Petawawa Blvd., is moving to a new location at the corner of Water Tower Rd. in the industrial park. Dr. Michelle Scantland, the hospital’s owner, shared with myFM that demand for animal care in the Ottawa Valley is at an all-time high.
Christine Mitchell, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Petawawa explains where the new facility will be built.
The site plan has been approved by the town and all that is left is for Dr. Scantland to submit for a business permit. Mitchell explains what still needs to be done before the construction can start.
Scantland hopes that this new facility will encourage more veterinarians to join her team as the need for animal care in the Valley is so vast. Mitchell noted that Dr. Scantland has ensured natural vegetation will remain as a buffer between the new facility and nearby residential areas.
Mitchell also stated that with the animal hospital relocating, it opens up another spot on Petawawa Blvd. for a new business to move into the old animal clinic. That allows for more economic growth for the town. Stay with us for the latest updates with the development of the new Petawawa Animal Hospital.
