The UOV Detachment is currently investigating a robbery that took place early this morning at a convenience store in the City of Pembroke.
On August 8, 2024, at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers responded to an emergency call from a convenience store located in the 300 block of Pembroke Street East. According to police reports, an unidentified individual entered the store, brandished an edged weapon, and demanded cash from the on-duty employee. Fortunately, the employee was unharmed during the incident. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and several lottery tickets.
The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, approximately 168 cm (5’6″) tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black ski mask that obscured his face.
The UOV OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation, with support from OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU). Authorities are particularly interested in obtaining any security or doorbell camera footage from residents in the Peter Street and Pembroke Street East areas, recorded between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. on the day of the robbery.
