Pembroke has another lottery winner. Wallace Turcotte is the $100,000 winner with OLG’s Instant Gold Pursuit. Wallace, who is retired, has been playing the lottery for decades and this was his first big win. He says it’s to early to say what he’ll do with the winnings but he does plan on traveling a little. The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas on Pembroke Street in Pembroke.
“I won $25 instantly on the ticket and I was happy with that, but I knew I still had a chance to win the top prize. When I went to bed that night, I said to myself, “Tomorrow I am going to win $100,000,’ and that is exactly what happened,” Wallace smiled, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I checked the ticket and saw the ‘Big Winner’ screen, I started shaking.”
Wallace knew exactly who to share his good news with first. “I ran to tell my mom right away. I knew she would get a kick out of this story,” he laughed. “I always hoped for a big win, but never expected it to happen. It’s just outstanding. It feels really great!”
