As the warmth of spring settles in, Pembroke invites locals and visitors alike to mark their calendars for the grand opening of the Pembroke Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 18. The event promises an array of fresh local produce and artisanal goods, all sourced directly from the region’s passionate producers.
The day will kick off with opening remarks at 8:45 a.m., followed by the commencement of sales at 9 a.m. Running every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the market will be a vibrant hub of activity until October 12. The Pembroke Farmers’ Market is renowned for its diverse offerings, boasting an impressive selection of locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, honey, eggs, meat, preserves, and maple syrup. For those seeking hand-crafted treasures, artisans will showcase an array of products including soaps, candles, artwork, jewelry, and more.
Excitingly, the Pembroke Farmers’ Market has partnered with the Pembroke Business Improvement Area to introduce theme days and activities throughout the season. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates on upcoming events.
With roots dating back to the early 1900s, the market has long been a cornerstone of the Pembroke community, serving as a vital economic hub. Although it experienced a temporary closure in the 1980s, it was re-established in 1992 and has since flourished under the guidance of a dedicated Vendors’ Association and the City of Pembroke.
