A pair of local residents are facing charges after a series of shoplifting investigations. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they began looking into thefts that happened between April 11th and May 1st at multiple retail stores on Pembroke Street East and Pembroke Street West in the Township of Laurentian Valley. 48-year-old Ian Hopper from Pembroke has been arrested and charged on two counts of theft under $5,000 and five counts of failing to comply with probation. 39-year-old Benjamin Lush of Petawawa also faces four counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and assault.
