To kick off Emergency Preparedness Week, the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre is teaming up with the Pembroke Fire Department and Nice Dog, Scarlett! for a free event on Monday, May 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Pembroke Fire Department. Attendees will learn how to create an emergency plan for pets, including escape route strategies and tips on building survival kits for both family members and pets.
Participants can also enter a draw to win a pet first aid kit and download a digital Emergency Preparedness Workbook for pet safety planning by visiting ontariospca.ca/ep. Additionally, free emergency decals will be provided to let first responders know pets are inside homes. Decals can be collected at the event or the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre.
