Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is praising the work of a local resident for saving the life of someone overdosing in Pembroke’s downtown. Around 10am recently, police and paramedics were called to a business in the 100 block of Pembroke Street East in Pembroke due to a suspected overdose. A bystander administered naloxone. Medical care was declined by the person who overdosed, and they refused to surrender their remaining quantity of drugs to police. Shortly after, the 37-year-old woman was charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl, as well as failure to comply with probation.
