Murphy Road in Petawawa, a long-standing concern for improvement, has finally made its way onto the priority list. During the 2024 budget meeting, the council members identified three key projects, and the urbanization of Murphy Road emerged as one of them.
Situated in Petawawa, approximately 1.2 km of Murphy Road is set to undergo a transformation, including pulverization and paving, along with essential drainage and safety device enhancements. The project will necessitate lane closures and alternating traffic in specific sections.
To support the construction, the initiative will receive $2.4 million from the County of Renfrew. Further deliberations on the road plan are anticipated in upcoming council meetings, underscoring the commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure concerns in the community.
