Bernadette McCann House is on a mission to bring positive change by putting an end to abuse through the provision of safety, support, and education for all those who have experienced abuse. While they’ve made commendable strides in spreading awareness about their shelter, they are eager to reach an even wider audience and ensure that more individuals are informed about the invaluable services they offer.
Leigh Sweeney Executive Director for McCann House tells myFM that they offer services for both women and men.
The organization is eager to facilitate communication and engagement with the wider community, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in fostering a supportive environment for those affected by abuse. Sweeney discusses the importance of raising awareness about their services.
McCann House has a diverse array of programs, encompassing outreach initiatives, family court programs, transitional support programs, and specialized groups and services tailored for men and women. For in-depth information about these programs, interested individuals are encouraged to explore the details on their website or connect via email at help@wsssbmh.org. Sweeney shared insights with myFM on how the community can contribute to assisting individuals in need.
To further connect with the community, McCann House is hosting a free skate event on March 10th, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Renfrew. Sweeney encourages everyone to attend, have fun, and make the most of the ice while it lasts. Join in spreading awareness and supporting their vital mission.
