The Pembroke Lumber Kings return after a two-week break on Sunday when they welcome the Cornwall Colts to the PMC. Game time is 2 p.m. The Kings were heavily short-handed before the break due to the suspensions of Easton Penna and Gianluca Guarnieri. This was followed by a few key injuries to Vital Dinis, Lucas Legault, Alex Fortier, and star goaltender Kevin Jones. The short bench led to emergency call-ups from the Jr. B league and U18 division and the Kings dropped the final two games before the break. Pembroke enters the weekend sitting in 5th place of the Robinson Division but has played the least amount of games in CCHL to date with only 28. A record of 13-12-3-0 is good for 28 points. The Kings took to the ice at the PMC yesterday with a full roster set to take to the ice on Sunday afternoon. Pembroke is aiming to get back into the playoffs after missing the post season while recording only 10 wins. One of the worst seasons for the red and white in franchise history. With the trade deadline looming on January 9th, General Manager and Head Coach Alex Armstrong still has time to make moves to bolster his team for a championship run.
