A Christmas Day investigation lead to the arrest of one person in Pembroke, who now faces charges of intimate partner violence. Police were called out to a domestic dispute call on the 25th, where the victim also reported incidents dating to the spring of 2023, including the killing of a family dog. A 43-year-old from Pembroke was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death, killing or injuring an animal and four counts of failing to comply with probation.
