The Pembroke Lumber Kings are looking forward to 2024 in the hopes they will have a full line-up. The Kings dropped their sixth game in seven outings, falling 4-2 to the Nepean Raiders in their final game of 2023. Again, the Kings were shorthanded with several players injured or suspended resulting in a short bench and some call-ups from the club’s affiliated players.
Newly acquired forward Liam Cardiff scored in his first game for the Kings as did Eric Barnard, but the Kings couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead as the Raiders scored four unanswered goals. The Kings go into the break with a 13-11-3 record.
The Kings now have almost three weeks off before returning to the ice on Sunday, January 7th for a 2 p.m. tilt with the Cornwall Colts at the Pembroke Memorial Centre. The Lumber Kings wish all of their fans, sponsors and billets a very happy holiday season.
