Setting aside a few dollars for charity will help a waitlist of homeless and stray animals get the care they need.
Valley Animal Rescue took to social media recently to announce that they don’t have enough funds to continue taking in new animals, which means that there is a waitlist of homeless and stray animals that they simply can’t help right now.
The news comes at a time when many local rescues and shelters are already over capacity and struggling to make ends meet, a situation Valley Animal Rescue says it has never seen as bad in its 12 years of existence.
The rescue says that they will be able to look after the animals already in their care, but their main source of income is donations, which have been down while inflation is driving costs up.
Another issue is that money from their recent bottle drive and upcoming online Christmas auction has already been committed to pets in their care and can’t be used to support new intakes.
If you’re able to help, Valley Animal Rescue is a registered charity that can be supported online through a fundraising page at Canada Helps as well as through direct donations via PayPal.
You can also send an e-transfer to valleyanimalrescue@hotmail.com. Make sure to include both your email and home address so they can issue you a donation receipt.
Donations by mail can be made out to: Valley Animal Rescue, Box 214, Renfrew, ON. K7V 4A3.
Valley Animal Rescue is also happy to get the word out about any community fundraisers being done on their behalf. Get in touch by email or over social media to get started.
