Not to leave anyone behind, the four-month National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) is got underway at Garrison Petawawa Tuesday (November 7th) with a pancake breakfast fundraiser.
NDWCC is all about helping the communities where members live, which is especially important following the challenges of the pandemic and other world events that have made life more difficult.
The initial seed money came from the over $5,000 raised through Iron Warrior in August, and activities are being held across the base and within units to help raise money for local charities who provide assistance to base members, families, and neighbours.
Funds raised over the next four months will be distributed to Health Partners and registered Canadian charities through the United Way on behalf of the base, in support of issues relating to mental health for children and adults, housing and feeding the homeless, seniors and care givers and social systems change.
