There is still time to take part in the City of Pembroke Parks and Recreation Master Plan survey. The process will help the city get community feedback on parks and facilities, recreation programming, and identifies a plan to improve the City of Pembroke’s recreational services for the future. The new plan will be in place for the next 10 years according to the department and this survey is just phase one of the process. Step two will happen in January with draft recommendations with phase three including the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan set to begin in May of 2024. The survey is open until November 3rd. Click Here to take the survey.
This framework will help staff and Council as they make decisions that best represent the needs of the community, while balancing financial and staff resources.
The goal is to solidify a vision for parks and recreational services, including:
– Accessibility and inclusion
– Park, trails and facility enhancements
– Community engagement and communications
– Recreational programming and events
– Maintenance and management
Focus Group Sessions
Consultants will be meeting with representatives from the community to solicit detailed insight as it relates to recreational services. Part of this process seeks input from a wide range of perspectives including seniors, youth, facility and programming user groups. Data collected contributes valuable information to ensure that the recreation services remain current and meets the changing needs of our residents and the community.
If you would like to be contacted about participation in a focus group, please contact Jordan Durocher at jdurocher@pembroke.ca
