In their first meeting of the season, the Pembroke Lumber Kings and Cornwall Colts set the tone for what could be quite the season battle. Eric Barnard opened the scoring at the 5-minute mark of the first with his second of the season for Pembroke. Cornwall would then quickly answer back and also tally before the end of the first to make it a 2-1 game. The Colts would again find the back of the net at 9:03 of the second. Not long after, the Kings would find their scoring touch. Vital Dinis would score his third of the season at 15:47 to bring Pembroke back to within one heading into the third. At 1:15 of the third, Andrew Schmidt would continue his hot streak for the Kings with his 6th goal of the year to tie the game at three. Vital Dinis would strike again a few minutes later, giving his team the lead with his second of the night. Multiple penalties would be handed down through the rest of the game as tempers flared but the Lumber Kings would hold on to win their seventh of the season in front of a packed PMC. Goalie Kevin Jones backstopped the Kings with a 38-save performance. Pembroke remains in third place in the Robinson Division. Only trailing the Carleton Place Canadians and the Smiths Falls Bears. The Lumber Kings are off until Sunday when they welcome the Ottawa Jr. Senators to the PMC. Game time is 7 pm. It will also be Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the rink, everyone is encouraged to wear pink.
