The Pembroke Lumber Kings continue to grind out character wins when they need it. Coming off their first win of the season, the Braves netted a pair of goals in the second period despite being outshot by the Kings. Eric Barnard scored his first of the season at 9:47 of the third period and you can cue the comeback from there. Ryan Parent then netted his fourth of the year at 10:54 to tie the game, eventually sending it to overtime. Captain Nathan Duck and Eric Barnard were credited with the assists. After exchanging scoring chances at both ends of the ice, Ryan Parent would play hero at 2:24 of the extra frame to seal the win. Ryan McNally and Easton Penna assisted on the goal. Netminder Kevin Jones backstopped the Kings, making 19 saves in the win. The Lumber Kings are now in sole possession of third place in the Robinson Division, with a record of 6-4-1. Pembroke is back on the road Friday night when they meet the Hawkesbury Hawks for the first time this season. Game time is 7:30 and that’s a broadcast game right here on 104.9 myFM.
