Infant loss is one of the greatest challenges a mother can face. Jocelyn Ranger, a devoted Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network volunteer, highlights the significance of the “Wave of Light” event, which serves as a global commemoration on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on the 15th of October. They are hosting the event at Waterfront Park’s Amphitheatre welcoming those affected by pregnancy or infant loss and providing event details and location information.
Guests are recommended to monitor the weather, bring umbrellas, and consider personal candles (like multi-wick or hurricane-protected) to handle wind and weather. Although on-site candles will be available, bringing your own is encouraged. The event maintains a relaxed atmosphere, allowing attendees to share their stories comfortably, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.
The “Wave of Light” event’s primary goal is to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of pregnancy and infant loss, providing a safe space for sharing and healing. Jocelyn and Aaron look forward to the community uniting for remembrance and support. As the event nears, community participation offers comfort to those affected by pregnancy or infant loss.
