The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is rolling out its COVID-19 and flu community immunization clinics starting today (October 10th).
The initial clinics are for those at high risk of infection, and the shots are offered on a walk-in basis.
You can get the new COVID-19 XBB 1.5 vaccine if it has been 6 months (168 days) since their last COVID-19 vaccination or known COVID-19 infection.
Starting next week (week of October 16th), both vaccines will also be available to high-risk individuals at participating pharmacies.
The high-risk refresher means residents or staff of congregate living settings (e.g., chronic care facilities, retirement homes), those who are pregnant, those 65 year old and older, self-identifying members of indigenous communities and their households, racialized or equity-deserving residents, those over six months old with an underlying health condition, health care workers and first responders.
As well, for the flu shot alone, all children ages 6 months to four years.
Starting October 30th, RCDHU’s COVID-19 and flu clinics will be open to anyone 6 months of age and older, and no appointments are required.
