The Queen’s Online Psychotherapy Lab (QUOPL) at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, is reaching out to the residents of Pembroke, Ontario, with an important message. Eileen Danaee, a research assistant at QUOPL, is leading a series of studies designed to provide crucial mental health support to Pembroke’s community.
Pembroke faces a significant shortage of accessible and affordable mental health services for adults, and certain groups, like correctional workers, encounter additional barriers to seeking help.
QUOPL has initiated four studies to address these pressing issues:
- Depression AI Study: Offering 13 weeks of free online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals aged 18+ experiencing depression in Ontario.
- Insomnia Study: Providing 7 weeks of free online CBT to those aged 18+ dealing with insomnia in Ontario.
- Alcohol Use Disorder Study: Extending 10 weeks of free online CBT to individuals aged 18-65 in Ontario working to overcome alcohol consumption challenges.
- Correctional Workers Study: Offering 12 weeks of free online CBT to current correctional workers in Ontario grappling with symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Eileen Danaee is reaching out to Pembroke’s community to seek support in sharing information about these studies. Whether through articles, website mentions, or social media, any assistance in raising awareness and participation is highly valued.
Recruitment posters for these studies are available for sharing within the community. Should you have any inquiries or wish to contribute, please reach out to Eileen Danaee and QUOPL.
This initiative aims to make a substantial impact on the mental well-being of Pembroke’s residents by offering tailored, free online therapy. Your support can help turn this vision into reality.
