This week, the Community Poverty Action Network welcomed a new Executive Director, Chéla Breckon, who replaced Lyn Smith after her retirement. Smith had led the organization with skill and dedication for many years. Breckon told us in an exclusive interview about her first foot forward with CPAN
She also shared a “problem” she was tackling during her first week, as the most difficult hurdle was taking on a stack of applicants for Tools for School, a problem she’s happy to help with.
Breckon shared more about the history of CPAN as well, and the promising future for it now that it’s a separate organization, she let us know about another great initiative.
It was clear that Breckon is committed to the bright future ahead now they’re an independent entity, and now CPAN, which was previously focused on children only, has expanded its scope and vision to address poverty in a holistic way. She has a call to action for everyone in the Valley.
