“Fit & Feisty” launches in Laurentian Valley this summer, catering to the 50+ Adult Active Living community. With increasing retirements, flexible work hours, and a desire for post-COVID social gatherings, the program offers diverse physical activities like pickleball, cycling, yoga, aqua fit, kayaking, and more.
myFM news spoke with Wanda Hilts, the spearhead for Fit & Feisty, about all the great things coming up towards the end of the month.
Travel and entertainment components include concerts, cultural trips, ATV runs, and golf tournaments. There’s also a weekly Coffee Connect at Alice and Fraser Recreation Centre, featuring local Ottawa Valley Roast House coffee and sponsored events with guest speakers, demonstrations, and crafts.
The kick-off BBQ on August 23 offers Pulled pork, Corn-on-the-cob, and dessert options. For $25, become a member and gain access to events, free Coffee Connect, reduced prices, and more. Membership is open to Laurentian Valley and area residents, and the program aims to enhance lives by promoting fitness, social connections, and a zest for life.
