A new electronic surveillance monitoring system use policy has been adopted by Pembroke city council, leading to the installation of cameras in the city sooner rather than later. Deputy Mayor for the City of Pembroke Brian Abdallah tells myFM news that the security cameras will be put in place through different phases.
Abdallah also tells myFM news that signage and online postings will be put up as well.
When asked who can see the footage, Pembroke’s Deputy Mayor says only top city officials will use them when needed.
Additionally, signage will be developed and posted at each entrance to the Waterfront Park at Alfred St., Alexander St., on both the east and west entrances of the Algonquin Trail and the Kiwanis walkway, as well as at the marina for boaters, per the guidelines laid out by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
