Charges have been handed down in recent shoplifting case. Just after 6pm on Thursday, OPP were called out to a business along Pembroke Street East in Laurentian Valley. The suspect left the scene before police could arrive, but was later found. 60-year-old Kenneth Bertrand has since been charged with theft under $5,000, shoplifting, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 as well as flight from police. He was also later charged with not stopping at a stop sign and failing to stop for police.
