Some changes are coming for a few selected students within the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board. Beginning in September, grade 7 students within the school board in Pembroke and Petawawa will be moved to Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke. Director of Education Mark Searson tells myFM that the move will be a positive one for students.
It was back in December that the board of trustees voted in support of the re-organization. Searson tells myFM that the process was a lengthy one.
When asked if the transition could lead to the potential of more school mergers and closures, the Director of Education says that there is a hold on any of those discussions.
Searson goes on to say that orientation to help the transition will be taking place this spring and over the summer.
