Provincial money continues to flow into the Pontiac.
Robert Bussière, the National Assembly member for Gatineau visited the region on behalf of Municipal Affairs Minister Andrèe Laforest on Thursday, March 9th to announce over $1.2 million to stimulate local entrepreneurial development.
The money is intended to create and expand businesses in various industrial sectors, improve supports for business people and project leaders, and entice young entrepreneurs to put down roots in the Pontiac.
The province will kick in around a million dollars for the project as part of the deal, with the MRC Pontiac footing remainder of the bill.
Warden Jane Toller says the Pontiac region is “built on a strong entrepreneurial spirit” and she looks forward to “the exciting projects that will come out of this initiative.”
It was one of two cheques the province handed to the MRC Pontiac on Thursday, as the region also received over $2.6 million to be split up among 29 community and municipality led vitalization projects.
