More charges have been laid in a case of assault and harassment allegations involving an area physician.
According to a report from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Dr. Alexander McLachlan was arrested in Renfrew on multiple accusations of assault and criminal harassment dating as far back as October 2019.
He was later released on bail conditions, but police in Guelph would charge him in January with four counts of failing to comply with the undertaking as well as uttering a threat to cause death.
McLachlan is last reported by the CPSO to practice with a team of doctors in Pembroke and has hospital privileges both there and in Deep River.
To myFM’s knowledge, the allegations against McLachlan have yet to be proven in court.
