The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board will have all of its schools open Friday November 4th, whether or not its twelve plants with CUPE representation walk out or not.
That message was posted today (Tuesday) on the RCCDSB website amidst news that the Provincial Government intends to pass legislation to restrict the Canadian Union of Public Employees right to strike.
CUPE has said it will defy the “Keeping Students in Class Act, 2022” as it impinges on free collective bargaining.
The twelve RCCDSB schools with CUPE bargaining units include St. Andrews in Killaloe, Bishop Smith in Pembroke, Our Lady of Lourdes, Holy Name and Valleycrest as well as St. Francis of Assisi in Pembroke and Our Lady of Grace in Westmeath.
Regular transportation will apply.
