We thought we’d give you a week’s notice in case you want to arise early next Tuesday to see the last full lunar eclipse in our area until 2025.
That’s star-gazer and backyard astronomer Gary Boyle, discussing the total lunar eclipse that is visible in our area on Tuesday November 8th in the wee hours.
Boyle says it’s a good time to be the proud owner of a digital SLR camera- but some of the newer cell phones may snap an acceptable image.
The backyard astronomer says don’t wait- the next total lunar eclipse coincides with the year of the next Federal election.
Boyle says a partial lunar eclipse in 2023 will be 20 percent of totality, while the one slated for 2024 will only present at 15 percent.
He says the longer you wait, the more you will see.
