The County of Renfrew has approved a new policy for the electronic monitoring of employees.
Employers in Ontario with more than 25 staff members are required to have a written policy on the electronic monitoring of employees.
The policy must state whether or not the employer electronically monitors employees and explain in what circumstances staff members may be monitored electronically.
Employers also have to provide a written copy of the policy to all employees.
The new requirements were added to the Employment Standards Act on April 11th, 2022.
The County of Renfrew says when staff are notified of this policy, it will be property communicated that it is an employment standards act requirement.
