There’s a number of elected officials not running for another term on County Council.
At the final County Council meeting before the municipal election, Chief Administrative Officer Craig Kelley recognized the six people not seeking another term on County Council.
Laurentian Hills Mayor Jed Reinwald, Brudenell Lyndoch Raglan Mayor Sheldon Keller, Greater Madawaska Mayor Brian Hunt, Madawaska Valley Mayor Kim Love, Whitewater Region Reeve Cathy Regier and Petawawa Mayor Robert Sweet will not be returning to County Council.
After the October 24th municipal election, Whitewater Region will be sending the Mayor to County Council instead of the Reeve and the Township will also replace the Reeve position with a Deputy Mayor. Cathy Regier has been acclaimed as the Deputy Mayor for Whitewater Region.
Sheldon Keller, the current Mayor of Brudenell Lyndoch and Raglan, will be running for a Ward 2 Councillor position against Wayne Robert Banks, John Behnke, Melody-Ann Budarick and Stefan Woyslaw.
