National Seniors Day is October 1st and the Pembroke Public Library is inviting children to read to seniors. Anusha Arul, who does programming and outreach at the library in Pembroke, says you don’t need to be a library member to take part.
Other libraries around the world have gone into nursing and long-term care homes to read to seniors, but Arul says they haven’t been able to do that because of COVID-19.
The library programmer hopes to see some children and seniors sitting across from each other having a good time on Saturday, October 1st, from 11:30am to noon.
If you want to take part you can contact the library at 613-732-8844 or email programs@pembrokelibrary.ca. The deadline to register is September 29th.
