The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium (RCJTC) is aware of a driver shortage.
In a memo posted online Monday afternoon (August 29th) the RCJTC says local school bus operators have not been able to retain, recruit and train enough drivers to cover all their routes.
Families across Renfrew County that will be impacted will be notified in the next two days if their route will not be serviced due to the driver shortage.
The RCJTC is working with bus operators to find solutions to reduce the impact.
While some students and school boards have already returned to class after the summer break, the majority of kids will be heading back to school next week.
The RCJTC says you can get updated information on the bus driver shortage online at onthebus.ca
