It’s a major project that will see a new daycare centre and playground area at Equinox School in Pembroke.
Construction is expected to start next month (September of 2022) and last the entire school year.
A total of 39 new childcare spots will be created including 15 for toddlers and 24 for preschool age children.
The school board is asking the City of Pembroke to use the parking lot at the Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC) as there will be no parking at Equinox School while construction is underway.
The school board is looking to use up to 30 spots at the PMC.
Pembroke City Council has approved the use of the overflow parking lot on Lake Street (across the road from the PMC) for school staff to use between 7:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
