The 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment (3 RCR) will be conducting a training exercise today that involves troops parachuting into the Ottawa River.
Exercise ROYAL TRIDENT will see soldiers exit a slow-moving helicopter while close to the water.
Black Bear Beach will be open to the public today, but local police and the military will be on-site throughout the exercise to control civilian movement into the area for safety.
Family and friends are welcome to watch and enjoy the show.
The Canadian Armed Forces says exercise ROYAL TRIDENT will be an incredible display of 3 RCR’s parachuting capabilities.
Exercise ROYAL TRIDENT takes place on Wednesday, August 17th from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
