Hospice Renfrew was able to raise a hefty sum to keep their programs running after 31 teams took Dragonfly Golf Links to participate in the Hospice Renfrew Golf Classic.
Kevin Cherry of Edward Jones in Renfrew is a board member for the hospice. He revealed the total raised during the Friday, August 5th event on myFM In the Morning.
This year’s prize pool was boosted by Toronto Raptors Head Trainer and Renfrew native Scott McCullough, who brought along his 2019 NBA Championship ring to show off as they raffled off some signed sports memorabilia.
Another big prize was award to Cheyenne Barr, who took home a gazebo provided by Ken Dillabough of Protyre in Renfrew.
Cherry credits his wife for the bulk of the behind-the-scenes work to put on the fundraiser, which raised over $20,000 towards palliative care in our community.
Hospice Renfrew is the first rural palliative care hospice in Ontario, opening it’s doors in 2008.
