The first-ever Water and Dirt Festival was a huge success. Event organizer Colin Coyle says they saw many people come from out of town which provided an economic boost with people staying at local hotels and shopping at businesses in the region.
Coyle says the 10-day Water and Dirt Festival was spread out over two weekends with nine different events on land and water. People are already asking about dates for next year and Coyle says they’re looking to see how they can grow the festival.
Other neighbouring municipalities that have something to offer to the Water and Dirt Festival are encouraged to reach out to Coyle through the festival website to see how they can help grow the event in 2023.
The 2022 edition of the Water and Dirt Festival included the Upper Ottawa River Race, a Kayak Fishing Tournament, a Doggy Paddle, skate board and bike park competitions, a triathlon, a trail run and the Forest Lea Enduro.
