Registration closes tonight for the Forest Lea Enduro race. The event is part of the first ever Water and Dirt Festival in the Ottawa Valley. Race Director Myles Johnson says there is a 3km, 10km, 25km and 50km race for participants to take part in.
The mountain bike race will follow the trails at Forest Lea in Laurentian Valley. Johnson says the trails are marked out and ready to go for the race on Sunday, August 7th.
Johnson is reminding participants that the bugs are still out and to be self-sufficient for water and food. There will be some emergency help on the trails to ensure nobody gets left behind and one water station will be at the halfway point on the 25km loop.
You can register for the race online until 11:59pm tonight (August 4th). This is a volunteer run event and all proceeds support the Forest Lea Trails. The Forest Lea Enduro event will include lunch and people who are just watching can eat for $10.
