There will be a chance for kids in Pembroke to catch up with their favorite superheroes.
May 14th is the first annual Heroes Run in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, with a special 2-kilometer family run where kids can dress up as their heroes and meet-and-greet with caped crusaders as they run through Pembroke.
Roger Martin is the executive director for the Foundation, and he tells myFM not all heroes wear capes.
The 2k run for $20 per child, and their guardians can run alongside for free.
There will also be a timed 5k run for older kids and adults for $30. Martin gives myFM a rundown of the route runners will take on the day of the event.
Martin adds that the while it’s the first run of its kind for Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation, they have experience with something similar in their annual Turkey Trot. As such the foundation is confident in the donation goal they’ve set
Top donors will be entered into a draw for a $1000 Apple product gift package. A minimum of $100 raised is needed to get a ballot.
Registration starts on March 30th, you can do so online at heroesrunforhealthcare.ca.
