It was a third period to forget for the Pembroke Lumber Kings last night at the PMC. The Kings were down by two heading into the final frame before Renfrew netted three goals in the first five minutes. Caden Eaton scored his 6th of the season to break the shutout at 14:19 of the third, and the Wolves held on for the 5-1 win. Nick Heinzle was in net for the Kings, giving starter Reece Proulx a much needed break. He stopped 28 shots in the loss. Pembroke’s penalty kill didn’t get it done either, surrendering goals on both Wolves power plays. The win allowed the Wolves to leapfrog over the Lumber Kings for the second spot in the Robinson Division. The Kings are also just two points ahead of the Kemptville 73’s for fourth place. Pembroke is back on the road Thursday night to visit the Cornwall Colts. Game time is 7:30 and we will carry the game right here on 104.9 myFM with the pregame show set for 7:20.
