Arnprior has issued a statement after reports that the trucker convoy that’s been parked in Ottawa for the last three weeks will be coming to town.
The town says organizers of the “Freedom Truck Convoy 2022” have said that parking will be available at the Arnprior Municipal Airport for members of the convoy.
In the statement issued by the town it says the Arnprior Airport Commission is not meeting, nor are they clearing any lands for the parking of vehicles at the Arnprior Municipal Airport.
The Town says ongoing clearing operations are for aircraft use of runways only and adds no parking is available on the airport lands for vehicles.
Councillor Lisa McGee issued a similar statement on the popular What’s Up Arnprior Facebook group earlier today.
The Town of Arnprior says they are currently monitoring the situation and working with officials as necessary.
