Capacity limits are lifting in many settings across Ontario this week.
This incudes the Civic Centre in Petawawa.
Director of Community Services Kelly Williams provided an update to council on Monday afternoon.
The announcement follows news from the province that COVID-19 restrictions would be easing across the province.
Williams says proof of vaccination will no longer be required to enter the Petawawa Civic Center next month.
Starting Thursday (February 17th), the Civic Center, and other local arenas, will be able to operate at 50 per cent of the usual seating capacity with 25 percent capacity in the hall for events with dancing.
Starting March 1st, all capacity limits will be lifted with proof of vaccination no longer required.
Deputy Mayor Gary Serviss says this is exciting news and will help the recreation department get back to some sense of normalcy in terms of programming and athletics offered in Petawawa.
