Staff continue to manage a COVID-19 outbreak at Bonnechere Manor long-term care home in Renfrew.
Director of long-term care for the County of Renfrew, Mike Blackmore, says two deaths have been linked to the outbreak.
Blackmore provided an update to members of the health committee on Wednesday morning (February 9th, 2022).
He says they are starting to see new cases decline over the past couple of days.
There are currently 12 staff members who recently tested positive for COVID-19 with several of them scheduled to come off of isolation in the coming days.
The director of long-term care says 24-residents are still isolating with 34 having recovered from the virus.
Blackmore says most local residents have their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine which is proving to be very effective in terms of mitigating virus related symptoms.
One unit at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew is back down to zero active cases.
Blackmore says management and staff are doing an amazing job and they’re starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the current outbreak.
