A local family is grieving and the community is coming together to show support.
Brittaney Fraser-McCann, a mother of four, wife and nurse at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, passed away on December 17th, 2021 at the age of 33.
Flags were lowered at the hospital in Pembroke to honour her.
According to a go-fund-me page set up to support the family, Brittaney passed away after complications during her third endovascular coiling procedure to repair a brain aneurysm she had suffered in February.
She leaves behind her husband Kelly, and her four children; Wyatt (11), Walter (5), Oliver (4) and Elliott (3), as well as a huge, extended family.
The online fundraiser says her last selfless act is being an organ donor and she was able to give the gift of life by donating five organs to five donor recipients. Within 24-hours, over $80,000 has been raised to support the family. Donations can be made online here.
