The Rising Light of Hope Christmas Angel Project is helping families in the Pembroke area this holiday season.

Reverend Doug Kent says they are currently assisting a single mom with two kids and a single father who is going through a tough time.

Kent says they are looking for donations of gift cards, toys, food and money.

He adds the families are also being assisted by the Grind in Pembroke.

Kent says no child should go without Christmas and adds nobody will be refused help.

He says if the Rising Light of Hope organization isn’t able to assist, they will point individuals in need to the right people.

Kent adds the Rising Light of Hope committee is still working towards getting a homeless shelter established in the Pembroke area.
