Hyundai Pembroke has won the prestigious President’s Award of Merit for 2020.
General Manager Shannon Slaughter says to receive this award during a global pandemic, at a time of economic uncertainty, is something she is incredibly proud of.
She adds this is an award for the whole team as they didn’t let the pandemic dictate their success.
The President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, Don Romano, was in the Ottawa Valley to mark the occasion on Wednesday afternoon.
Romano says it’s not the first time Pembroke Hyundai has won this award, adding he doesn’t remember a year they didn’t win.
He says the Slaughter family “gets it” in terms of running a dealership and developing a reputation and relationship in the community.
Romano says only the best of the best receive the President’s Choice of Merritt Award.
He adds Pembroke Hyundai not only excels in terms of sales, but also customer service.
With new competition in the automobile industry coming to Canada and dealers selling direct, he says the physical presence and community connections are so important.
In terms of the chip shortage impacting the auto sector, Romano is hopeful it will be resolved by mid to late next year, but adds there’s no stats to back that up.
