The popular Taste of the Valley event has gone virtual.
A new “eat with us” – cooking with local food video series has launched highlighting some of the amazing products featured across the Ottawa Valley.
The show is produced by local videographer Shawn Behnke.
Five separate episodes have been filmed in an outdoor kitchen that was set up at Hedgeview Organic Farms in Laurentian Valley.
The first three videos in the local food series are available online now.
The first episode features Chef Tracey Keller from The Falmingo Restaurant in Renfrew making fish tacos with with fish sourced from Buttermilk Creek farm in Cobden.

The second episode features Heartwood Restaurant in Combermere and is all about Buddha Bowls.

The third episode that is currently available in the Taste of the Valley video series highlights The Babbling Gourmet from Admaston/Bromley with signature lamb “lollipops”.

The Taste of the Valley website also features information on local vendors and products that are available from Arnprior to Deep River and out towards Barry’s Bay.
While the season for Farmers Markets has come to an end, Taste of the Valley also has a tab that provides details on a dozen local Farmers Markets.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Taste of the Valley would have large scale events across the Ottawa Valley.
Renfrew County Warden Debbie Robinson has previously said the new website for Taste of the Valley will provide safe, year round support for people to learn about and have options to purchase local from food and beverage producers as well as local artisans.
