The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak in Madawaska Valley.
The RCDHU says in the last 2-weeks, 12 people in Madawaska Valley have tested positive for COVID-19 with multiple high-risk contacts identified.
Case and contact management has identified The Holy Canadian Martyrs Parish as a significant site for possible COVID-19 exposures.
The health unit has identified September 26th, 2021 as a likely date of exposure.
The RCDHU says there is concern that some individuals may still be infected with COVID-19 and are trying to prevent further spread.
Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed or develops symptoms is asked to get tested and self-isolate.
